Moving from a small town in Mississippi on over to Missouri to get closer to family and friends I grew up with. I was in a 1 bedroom condo so I didn't have a lot of stuff but the stuff I had was mostly made up of large objects and some fragile items here and there. Empire assured me that they can make sure everything makes it undamaged and that they could handle the couches and dressers and other miscellaneous larger things. They did a good job overall and I really appreciate how fast they were!

Moving over state lines from West Virginia to Virginia for some cheaper property. Everything went pretty well with the move, we had a lot of junk that needed to be removed, recycled or thrown out which this team also helped with. They even helped out with a final walk through and deciding what was staying or being thrown out. I appreciate the hard work these movers put into their job.

Had a move from Southern PA to Syracuse NY and had a tough time finding a reliable team to make it happen. Empire came through at the end of my search and assured me they could pull it off. I was skeptical at first but everyone seemed super nice and was knowledgeable about the roads to take so I figured I would give them a chance. They did a great job and didn't break anything so I'd say that's worth a perfect score!

Empire Moving Group was absolutely FANTASTIC. I had nowhere else to turn and thought I was going to have to just donate things because my local teams and friends and family were all indisposed and couldn't help or were too expensive. A friend told me to call Empire and they will make sure everything is taken care of and sure enough they did! No issues with the move itself and everyone who works there is super nice!

Had a pretty small quantity of stuff compared to last time I had to move, some basic stuff. Moving out of my girlfriend's and into my own place in Georgia after a break up. I work remote so I just found the closest place with cheap rent. Due to the nature of everything, speed was a factor and I needed to go asap. They made it happen and I didn't have any issues.

Useless brokers. Poor customer service once your moving rep is done with you. Mine quit working for them shortly after I signed my contract. Missed delivery date by 1 month. No response from customer service whenever I inquired "when" my furniture would ship. Multiple calls and emails over the course of a month: "We don't know, but as soon as we do, we will let you know." That literally never happened. Truck showed up 1 day after my last inquiry. They didn't even know it had left AZ. Absolutely useless and pointless company. Don't do business with them. Just rent a POD from Uhaul, hire 2 movers to fill it. You'll save $1000s of dollars and NONE of the stress.

We recently hired Empire Moving Group to assist my daughter with her interstate move, just within 100 miles distance from PA to NY. Our experience with them has been extremely disappointing & we felt cheated, mad, frustrated, helpless & at their mercy on the day of our scheduled move date. The company failed to deliver on their initial estimate & on day of move charged us double the amount of our binding estimate, disregarded agreed-upon moving timelines in spite of paying extra fees to have a fixed day, and treated us, as a consumer, unfairly throughout the entire process.
It was shocking to find such a big company hire 3rd party movers (probably illegal immigrants) who came with a rented truck & not an Empire moving truck as stated on their estimate. We really felt deceived and financially burdened. We even had to pay upfront "All CASH". Where will a student get this kind of money if Parents were not there to afford or meet this financial burden!
The lack of transparency in their pricing & moving process structure is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their professionalism. The moving timeline provided by Empire Moving group was completely disregarded. They assured my daughter that her belongings would be picked up from her current home & delivered to her new home within a specific timeframe, but they failed to meet this commitment. This delay caused significant inconvenience and added stress to an already challenging process. The lack of punctuality and failure to adhere to agreed-upon schedules demonstrate a severe lack of respect for their customers' time.
2 Days before the moving date, their communication had become sporadic and unresponsive. When we expressed our concerns and dissatisfaction, their customer service representatives were dismissive, unapologetic, and unwilling to address the issues at hand. Their disrespectful attitude only exacerbated our frustration and further tarnished the overall experience.
Adding insult to injury, we found the way we were treated by all their employees was so humiliating. We begged & pleaded with everyone we came in contact with on the phone at Empire Moving group from customer service personnel & their supervisors, Jim ** our 1st point of contact & estimator (who had completely disappeared from the scene), Robert who went over all our moving items in details 4 days before the move & assured us that we have not gone over the estimated cu ft space in the truck & that it was absolutely ok for our personal stuff to be in duffle bags, the dispatchers Justin & Carlos who called us to tell us that the moving date will not be June 30th but July 1st & would not give us our time frames when the moving truck will be arriving.
No one from this company would see our anguish in spite of pleading with them again & again that we have to vacate the current rental place on the scheduled moving date otherwise my daughter will be liable to pay rent or that she had undergone surgery 4 days before so she needs to not have more stress or that we have no other place to stay & hotels were very expensive & sold out being 4th of July weekend & that being in the city downtown we have to make arrangements with city police for parking on the street for the moving truck. It was like we were just talking to a stone wall! The entire moving experience had become a nightmare!
In conclusion, we cannot ever recommend Empire Moving Company based on our personal encounter with them. Their failure to abide by their estimate, adhere to moving timelines, and provide fair treatment to customers is unacceptable. Moving is already a stressful process, and dealing with a company that adds more complications and fails to fulfill their promises only exacerbates the challenges. We strongly encourage others to consider alternative options when choosing a moving company to ensure a smoother and more satisfactory experience.

These people are cons. We dealt specifically with Eric **, and he broke the VERBAL contract with us. He promised us everything we wanted. Told us not to worry about the contract guidelines because we were "all set." Couple days before our move CROSS COUNTRY, we get a call (not from Eric, because he is on "vacation." Saying that everything we had wanted, will not happen. And if you bring up this review site, he will say it's just people complaining, no one ever write a good review, etc. When my husband was getting nervous about the reviews he was reading, he tried calling Eric only to have it be impossible to get a hold of him. But when we were "potential customers" he was available 24/7. So we are out 3k and had to rent a U-Haul and move ourselves. I don't know how these people live with themselves. THERE IS A REASON WHY THEY DON'T HAVE A FACEBOOK. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

I researched numerous moving companies and spoke to a very friendly, seemingly knowledgeable rep for Empire, named Aiden. He took detailed info regarding move and provided a quote which seemed high. He came back with a reduced amount if I would commit in 24 hrs. I did. My first mistake. Fast forward. We packed all our things. Movers scheduled a range of dates, showed today. They advise Empire is a ‘broker’ and some moving company I have no knowledge of showed up in a U-Haul. Unsure if I will ever see my things again. In addition, we already paid $1500 more based on what was ‘over’ Aiden’s original box estimate. Today movers had husband sign a new contract and original estimate of $6300 is now $9500. So we are screwed and honestly I’m feeling as if I will never see my things again. Lesson learned… Very expensive lesson learned. Just DON’T trust these people!!!!

Consumer Affairs is supposed to look out for your well being by telling you the truth about companies.. Empire shouldn't be allowed on this website.. They're just a phoney phone broker.. They'll promise you the Moon on the phone.. They have no trucks, movers, or storage, only phones... Their M.O. is to initially charge you $8000 then jack it up to $15000.. They charge you upfront, then hand you off to any company that stores all your belongings in a unprotected warehouse for weeks, where local riff raffs rifle through it..
I was fortunate enough to have my legal department get my deposit returned after a two month, highly stressful, battle.. They took money from me under false pretenses and provided zero service, only headaches.. I made the mistake of trusting the reviews on Consumer Affairs, not knowing that the great reviews are created by Empire's own staff.. CA apparently doesn't check out the validity, or origin, of these posted reviews.. This company had me in a rage, at a level I haven't felt in years, especially the liar salesman.. Do NOT sign anything with this company!. You can thank me for saving you a total cashectomy and loss of your belongings.
